zie MARE is a small-batch ceramic studio inspired by the quiet beauty of the coast — rolling waves, weathered shells, soft curves, and the imperfect forms found in nature.
The name brings together two elements at the heart of every piece: zie, drawn from the Polish word ziemia, meaning earth, and mare, meaning sea.
Each piece begins with earth and is shaped slowly by hand.
Rather than chasing perfect lines and identical forms, I let the clay move naturally. Edges ripple, curves wander, surfaces carry the subtle marks of the making process. No two pieces are exactly alike — and they aren't meant to be.
The result is functional pottery with a sculptural, coastal feeling: pieces that feel collected rather than manufactured, bringing a little of the sea into everyday rituals.
